Are you intrigued by the interplay of color, imagery, and texture? Ready to unleash your creativity through the versatile possibilities of weaving patterns? Join us for this two-session virtual class, where you’ll discover the art of paper weaving - a fun, fast, and loom-free way to stretch your artistic muscles!
Use printed photos or beautifully decorated papers (your creations or purchased designs) to explore simple weaving patterns. Through demonstrations, hands-on practice, and plenty of examples, you’ll learn:
- How to cut and prepare paper strips for weaving.
- Techniques for weaving vibrant patterns and combining imagery.
- Methods for mounting your finished woven collages.
Between sessions, you’ll have time to experiment, and in the second session, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your creations. By the end of the class, you’ll have a completed paper weaving to display and the skills to continue experimenting with selecting and decorating papers, adapting weaving drafts, and finishing your collages with polish. Whether you’re exploring paper weaving as a playful outlet or as inspiration for larger creative projects, the possibilities are endless!
