Ready to take your inkle loom weaving to the next level? Discover the art of Baltic Pick-Up Weaving, a technique that allows you to create intricate patterns and even weave words into your bands! Perfect for weavers looking to expand their skills, this class will guide you through dressing your loom for Baltic Pick-Up, reading and following complex patterns, and mastering the techniques needed to lift and drop warp threads to create beautiful, detailed designs.

We’ll be using the inkle loom, a small, portable loom designed specifically for weaving narrow bands. This loom is ideal for experimenting with different patterns and techniques, making it perfect for learning Baltic Pick-Up. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a finished woven band showcasing your newly acquired skills, along with the knowledge to continue creating intricate patterns on your own.

Whether you’re an experienced weaver or new to the technique, this class is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, enhance your weaving skills, and create unique designs. Join us for a fun and inspiring day of weaving!

Your Instructor, Elke Shubert was born and raised in Germany, where she learned to knit and crochet from her mother, aunt, and grandmother at a very young age. Her passion for fiber arts never wavered, and she later added spinning and weaving to her repertoire. For over 11 years, Elke has been teaching spinning, weaving, and knitting classes, and each year she brings history to life by demonstrating her craft in full medieval costume at the Georgia Renaissance Festival. She shares her home (and her love of fiber arts!) with her husband, three parrots, and two cats.
