Discover the art of batik using natural beeswax and hand-carved woodblocks in this immersive weekend workshop.

You’ll dive deep into traditional techniques and tools from global batik practices—learning to create both single- and multi-layer designs using Indonesian tjanting tools, brushes, metal stamps, and wooden blocks. Explore immersion dye baths and hand-painted applications while building your skills and confidence.

By the end of class, you’ll take home up to 2 yards of your own handmade batik fabric—each piece uniquely designed and crafted by you. Please note that wax removal from the fabric will be verbally taught but not completed in class. A handout and video support will be available, but students will do wax removal in their own time and spaces.
