In this hands-on class with JoEl Levy LoGiudice, you’ll explore the art of reverse dyeing using bleach discharge to create bold, one-of-a-kind fabric designs. Through demonstrations and guided practice, you’ll experiment with techniques like shibori folding, pole wrapping, clamp resist, brushing, spraying, and stamping as the fabric transforms and unexpected patterns emerge. Perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike, this class will leave you with striking fabric samples and the confidence to continue exploring reverse dyeing for future projects, from clothing to home décor.
JoEl Levy LoGiudice is a full-time studio artist from Ashland City, Tennessee whose work is celebrated across the Southeast. She is also an experienced instructor, who makes every class a creative adventure. She has taught at the Appalachian Center for Craft, Tennessee Tech, Arrowmont, the John C. Class Schedule: The class will be in person at the SEFAA Center on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 10 am - 6 pm. There will be a short 1/2-hour break for lunch, so we encourage you to bring your lunch with you. We have a small refrigerator and microwave available for your use
